NCB crackdown: 349 kg cocaine seized in Mumbai

Continuing its sustained operation against the international narcotics networks, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized 349 kilograms of high-grade cocaine in Mumbai. The seized cocaine is valued at `1,745 crores in the international market.
Announcing the seizure, Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the operation as a “trailblazing example of a bottom-to-top approach.” Shah said that the agency first
intercepted a smaller consignment and traced it back to dismember a much larger international network.
The Home Minister shared the details on the microblogging platform X, stating, “We are resolved to ruthlessly crush the narcotics cartel.” In his post, Shah wrote, “The Narcotics Control Bureau has cracked down on a major international narcotics ring, seizing 349 kg of high-grade cocaine worth `1,745 crore in Mumbai. This is a trailblazing example of a bottom-to-top approach where the agency traced back a smaller consignment to net a massive network. Congratulations to Team NCB for this monumental success.”
The seizure is being hailed as one of the biggest anti-narcotics operations in recent times and comes just days after Salim Dola, a notorious drug trafficker and close aide of global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, was brought to India from Turkiye.
