BJP fields 28 minorities in Ahmedabad, Vadodara local body polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has allotted tickets to 9 minority candidates in the Ahmedabad district. Out of these, three candidates have been fielded for the Taluka Panchayat elections.
Samsuddin Pathan has been given a ticket from the Virochan Nagar seat in Sanand, while Taufiq Umdiya is contesting from Bajarda in Dhandhuka. Kayamuddin Sidani has been nominated for the Viramgam Taluka Panchayat. Additionally, 9 minority candidates have been fielded across three municipalities in the district.
Meanwhile, in Vadodara district, the BJP has fielded 19 Muslim candidates. Among them, 8 candidates are contesting from Dabhoi and 5 from Savli. Muslim candidates have also been given tickets in Karjan and Padra.
However, no Muslim candidate has been fielded for the Vadodara Panchayat.
