Russo Brothers refuse to confirm Hulk's presence in 'Avengers: Doomsday'
The Russo Brothers have declined to confirm or deny whether Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk will appear in the upcoming Marvel film "Avengers: Doomsday", even as they hinted that the character is connected to the story surrounding supervillain Doctor Doom.
Ruffalo's Banner was most recently seen in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day". Asked about his possible appearance in "Doomsday", Joe Russo told Empire Online that Banner is "certainly involved in the story that revolves around Doom".
"We will not confirm nor deny his appearance in Doomsday," he said.
Anthony Russo added that several cast members and characters who have not yet been announced are part of the film.
"The farthest we can go is to say, there are characters and actors who have not been announced, who are a part of Doomsday," he said.
"Avengers: Doomsday" marks the brothers' return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after they directed 2019's "Avengers: Endgame". The film is scheduled to release on December 18 as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
The film will bring together superheroes and characters from multiple universes, including the Avengers, Wakandans from "Black Panther", the Thunderbolts -- known as the New Avengers -- from Earth-616, the Fantastic Four from Earth-828 and the original X-Men.
Robert Downey Jr, whose Iron Man sacrificed himself at the end of "Avengers: Endgame", will also return to the Marvel universe, this time as supervillain Doctor Doom.
