Atiq Ahmad's youngest son killed in Jhansi road accident

Aban Ahmad, the youngest son of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad, and his friend were killed on Thursday, Aug 6th when their SUV crashed into a road divider in Jhansi district, police said.
Aban, a resident of Prayagraj, was travelling to Jhansi to meet his two brothers, who are being held in jail there, when the accident occurred. His friend, identified only as Sonu, also died in the crash.
Three other occupants of the vehicle were injured and are being treated at the Government Medical College, according to police.
Senior Superintendent of Police BBGTS Murthy said officers received a report at around 10.30am local time that the SUV had struck a road divider after the driver apparently lost control.
"The accident claimed the lives of two people, while three others sustained injuries. The injured are being treated at the medical college," Murthy told reporters.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The vehicle was reportedly travelling at high speed at the time and the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination.
