Assam’s K Niraj Chandra Singha commissioned into Indian Air Force
Flying Officer K Niraj Chandra Singha from Assam has turned his childhood dream of serving the nation into reality by being commissioned into the Indian Air Force in the Meteorology Branch during the Combined Graduation Parade held at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, on June 13, 2026.
Born and raised in Assam, Flying Officer Singha nurtured the aspiration of wearing the uniform and serving the country from a very young age. His journey stands as a testament to determination, discipline and unwavering self-belief.
An alumnus of Sainik School Goalpara, Flying Officer Singha credits the institution for shaping his character and instilling in him the values of discipline, resilience, leadership and patriotism. Inspired by the achievements of senior cadets and alumni who went on to serve the nation in various capacities, he developed a strong resolve to join the Armed Forces.
Believing that success is achieved through perseverance and hard work, he consistently worked towards his goal. To broaden his horizons and strengthen his professional capabilities, he pursued a B.Tech degree while simultaneously mentoring young aspirants who shared similar dreams of serving the nation.
Despite facing numerous challenges and moments of uncertainty, Flying Officer Singha remained steadfast in his pursuit. Through patience, perseverance and dedication, he overcame every obstacle, emerging stronger with each setback.
His efforts culminated in his recommendation for the Indian Air Force’s Meteorology Branch, marking the successful realisation of years of hard work, sacrifice and commitment.
Today, as a commissioned officer of the Indian Air Force, he attributes his success to the unwavering support of his parents, the values imparted by Sainik School Goalpara and his faith in the Almighty.
