Assam cabinet adopts 75 resolutions appreciating Modi for state's transformation

The Assam cabinet on Friday adopted 75 resolutions expressing appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, crediting his 25 years in public office with the state's and the Northeast's transformation across development, connectivity, infrastructure, peace and security, industry and social sectors.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a special 90-minute cabinet meeting devoted exclusively to Modi's public service, spanning his tenure as Gujarat chief minister and his years as prime minister.
"Peace created the conditions for development, connectivity opened doors to opportunity, industry and investment created new economic possibilities, and healthcare and education strengthened human capabilities," Sarma said at a media briefing.
The cabinet recorded its appreciation for what it described as Assam's economic, social, physical, strategic and civilisational transformation over the past 25 years, particularly during Modi's tenure as prime minister.
Sarma said Assam, once viewed largely as a distant frontier, was increasingly emerging as a peaceful, connected and investment-ready state.
He also described the state as a gateway to the Northeast and an important growth partner in the country's journey towards a 'Viksit Bharat'.
