Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham trains 3,600 teachers in AI

In line with the National Education Policy 2020 and AICTE’s declaration of 2025 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has trained and certified more than 3,600 school teachers across India through its flagship AI for Teachers workshop series.
Led by the university’s Delhi NCR Faridabad campus, the programme was conducted through six online sessions across two editions. It saw strong participation from educators in private, public, and government schools nationwide.
The initiative aims to help teachers understand and use Artificial Intelligence responsibly in classrooms, supporting India’s goal of building AI awareness in education.
Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Dean, School of Artificial Intelligence, said: “AI is not here to replace teachers; it is here to empower them. Through this initiative, Amrita is building a nationwide community of AI-enabled teachers.”
