Almawakeing Foundation, Dr Shroff Hospital empower 26 visually impaired with AI smart vision glasses

Almawakening Foundation, in collaboration with Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, has organised a special empowerment programme at Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital under the Foundation’s “Enable Programme”, which supports persons with disabilities through technology-based assistive solutions.
As part of this programme, 26 visually impaired beneficiaries have received AI-enabled smart vision glasses that assist with mobility, reading support, object recognition, navigation, and independent living through advanced assistive technology.
The event was attended by Dr Alma Chopra, founder of the Almawakeing Foundation, motivational speaker and life coach & Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital officials, and other distinguished guests.
The event had beneficiary interactions and live demonstrations of the AI-enabled Smart Vision Glasses.
The devices offer features such as navigation support, reading assistance, facial recognition, currency recognition, calling support, emergency SOS, voice assistance, and surroundings detection, helping visually impaired individuals live with greater independence, safety, and confidence. Representatives from the Almawakening Foundation share that the initiative aligns with the foundation’s vision of creating meaningful social impact through its five pillars and ensuring that no individual is left behind due to physical limitations.
Dr Alma Chopra said, “This program is to build accessibility, inclusion & innovation.” Further, Dr Umang said this programme is not only to provide visual aid but also to provide dignity to such beneficiaries. Almawakening Foundation & Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital continue to contribute towards accessible eye care and community service, supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life for visually impaired individuals across India.
This initiative reflects the commitment of both organisations to building an inclusive society where technology becomes a tool for dignity, confidence, accessibility, and equal opportunity.
