Alan Ritchson in talks to feature in 'Helldivers' film adaptation

Actor Alan Ritchson of "Reacher" fame is in negotiations to feature in Sony Pictures' film adaptation of the video game "Helldivers", according to entertainment news outlet Deadline.
The film is being directed by Justin Lin and is scheduled to release on November 10, 2027. Plot details are being kept under wraps.
Actor Jason Momoa was earlier attached to the project but later exited the film.
The "Helldivers" game was released in 2015 and follows an elite unit called the Helldivers, whose members work together to defend Super Earth and fight enemies in an intergalactic war.
Its sequel, "Helldivers 2", was released in 2024 and sold more than 12 million units across PlayStation 5 and PC following its launch.
The film is being produced by Hutch Parker along with PlayStation Productions' Asad Qizilbash and Lin under his banner Perfect Storm Entertainment.
Sony Pictures announced the film adaptation in 2025.
