ADB delegation visits Assam Skill University

A high-level delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), led by L Satya Srinivas, Executive Director for India, Board of Directors, Asian Development Bank, and Mio Oka, Country Director — India, Asian Development Bank, accompanied by the INRM Mission Team, visited the Assam Skill University (ASU) campus at Mangaldai on Wednesday.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Subhash Chandra Das, IAS (Retd.), Vice-Chancellor, Assam Skill University; Dr Om Prakash, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department; and Shri Hanif Noorani, ACS, Registrar, Assam Skill University.
During the visit, the delegation toured the university’s workshops, state-of-the-art lab facilities like the Semiconductor Laboratory, Electric Vehicle Laboratory, Solar Energy Laboratory, Robotics and Cobot Laboratory, Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, etc., and other academic facilities. They also interacted with students, faculty members, and project officials, gaining first-hand insight into the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, industry-oriented practical learning ecosystem, and the progress of the Assam Skill University Project. As part of the visit, Shri L. Satya Srinivas and Mio Oka also participated in a sapling plantation ceremony on the university campus, symbolising the shared commitment of the Government of Assam, Assam Skill University, and the Asian Development Bank towards sustainability and environmentally responsible development.
