87 proposals received under BHAVYA scheme: Govt

As many as 87 proposals have been received from various States and UTs under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) scheme in the first round of Phase-I, for which applications were invited till July 31, Parliament was informed on Friday.

In March, the Government approved the Rs 33,660-crore scheme to develop 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across the country. In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada said applications received would be taken up for evaluation and scoring in accordance with the prescribed eligibility and evaluation criteria as per the scheme guidelines. The selection of projects is based on a challenge mode with evaluation on parameters such as connectivity and site suitability, quality of core, value-added and social infrastructure in DPR (detailed project report), industrial ecosystem and policy enablers.

The guidelines provide that the selection process for the first phase will be completed within one year from the date of notification of the scheme. In the first phase, the development of 50 industrial parks would be taken up. In the first round, applications were invited for 20 parks from June 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026.         

“87 proposals are received from various state and UT governments under the BHAVYA Scheme, in round 1 of Phase-I, which was open for receiving applications till 31st July 2026,” he said.

Maximum applications have come from Maharashtra (14), followed by Madhya Pradesh (11), Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, seven each.
