24-year-old man invited to birthday party, strangled and body burnt in Karnataka

In a shocking incident from Karnataka’s Ballari district, a 24-year-old man was allegedly murdered after being invited to a birthday party, with the accused reportedly strangling him and later attempting to burn the body to destroy evidence.
The deceased has been identified as Basanagouda, a resident of Ballanagudda village.
According to police, Basanagouda had gone with friends on June 7 to attend a birthday celebration held near a canal in the Moka area. Investigators suspect that the victim was killed at the same location where the gathering took place.
Preliminary findings suggest that the assailants allegedly used a rope to strangle the victim before setting his body on fire in an attempt to erase traces of the crime.
The incident came to light after the victim failed to return home even a day after leaving for the party. Concerned family members began searching for him, which eventually led to the discovery of the crime.
Police have registered a murder case at the Moka Police Station and launched a manhunt to trace and arrest those involved. The motive behind the killing is yet to be established and is currently under investigation.
Authorities are examining all possible angles as the probe continues.
