2 Workers die in massive fire at Amazon warehouse in Uttarakhand's Haldwani

A devastating fire at an Amazon warehouse in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, claimed the lives of 2 employees last night, prompting a major rescue operation and an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
According to police officials, the fire broke out at the warehouse located on Rampur Road and spread rapidly through the facility. Firefighters and police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about flames rising from the building shortly before 1 a.m. Rescue teams battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control.
After the fire was extinguished, rescue personnel discovered two employees inside the warehouse. Authorities said the victims died due to severe burn injuries and suffocation caused by heavy smoke while they were reportedly sleeping inside the facility when the fire erupted.

The deceased were identified as Narendra Prasad, 35, and Amit Arya, 25. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Officials also reported significant damage to goods and infrastructure stored inside the warehouse, with losses estimated to run into lakhs of rupees.
Police and fire department officials have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. Authorities said all possibilities, including a short circuit and other technical factors, are being examined. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
