'Mirzapur: The Movie’ crosses Rs 69 crore at domestic box office

“Mirzapur: The Movie”, featuring Ali Fazal, Divyenndu and Pankaj Tripathi, has collected Rs 69.30 crore gross at the domestic box office in its first two days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The film earned Rs 30.90 crore on its opening day on Friday before recording a significant jump on Saturday, when it collected Rs 38.40 crore, taking its two-day domestic gross to Rs 69.30 crore.
“Mirzapur: The Movie” marks the first big-screen outing for the “Mirzapur” universe, which began as a streaming series in 2018 and went on to become one of India's most successful OTT franchises across three seasons.
The film returns to the lawless world of Mirzapur, where the battle for power unfolds through bullets, betrayals and bloody rivalries. Set in 2018, it explores an untold chapter from the first season of the popular series.
Several members of the original cast have reprised their roles in the movie, including Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee.
Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan and Sonal Chauhan are among the new additions to the cast.
The film is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
