‘Hanuman Ansh’ crosses Rs 100 crore at domestic box office
Spiritual drama "Hanuman Ansh", based on the life and teachings of revered spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film follows Lakshminarayan, a young man grieving the death of his mother, who sets out on a spiritual journey in search of God.
Travelling across North India, he seeks answers to questions about life, death and human suffering before eventually transforming into the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba.
The film explores the saint's teachings centred on love, service and compassion, which touched the lives of countless people.
"Hanuman Ansh" stars Shobhinaw Satya in the lead role, alongside Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas, among others.
According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 124.70 crore gross at the domestic box office.
Released in Indian theatres on August 7, the film had a slow beginning, recording modest collections during its first two weeks.
It subsequently gained momentum on the back of strong word-of-mouth, helping the film cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office.
