With an aim to educate youth about employment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a 48-member team comprising retired IAS, IPS, IFS and educationists who will tell youth about the employment-oriented schemes and policies of the government.
The team includes 12 retired IAS officers, six IPS and IFS officers each and 24 educationists. From February 3 to 5, this team will communicate with youths in different universities, answer their queries related to employment and make them aware of the utility of the Global Investors’ Summit.
In this context, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath interacted with the 48-member special team on Tuesday.
“Uttar Pradesh has presented its new identity in front of the country and the world. People’s perception towards the state has changed. All of you have been witnesses to this big change, and have been co-travellers. All of you have vast experience in public life, having held important positions. Your cooperation is solicited so that our youths benefit from your experiences,” the CM said.
“In 2017, the state’s economy was pathetic. When we called bankers to implement the loan waiver scheme for farmers, we got discouraging results. No one received our calls. Recently, when there was a meeting with bankers and CEOs & MDs of financial institutions in Mumbai, people spontaneously expressed their eagerness to help in the development of the state,” the chief minister said.
“Inequality in development was a major problem in Uttar Pradesh. Eastern UP and Bundelkhand had seen very little development as compared to central UP and NCR. We have made special provisions in our policies, focusing on eastern UP and Bundelkhand. We have implemented policies to provide better connectivity, strong law and order and ease of doing business. As a result, industrial units are being established in these backward areas today. We are getting investment proposals worth lakhs of crores,” the CM said.
The Uttar Pradesh Global Investors’ Summit is being organised in Lucknow from February 10 to 12 to attract capital investment from the country. “This summit will pave the way for realisation of the possibilities of industrialisation in the state, but will also improve the standard of living of the common citizen of the state, strengthen the economy and create lakhs of new employment opportunities. Our youth will get the biggest benefit of this summit. Our youth will no longer be forced to migrate to other states for jobs and employment,” Yogi said.
Regarding preparations for the summit, the CM said roadshows held in India and abroad in the run-up to the GIS have seen unprecedented enthusiasm among the investors.
“In the roadshows organised in 21 cities of 16 countries, we received investment proposals worth over Rs 7.12 lakh crore. Industrialists from all over the world have expressed enthusiasm to invest in UP. This summit is going to be historic. This time all the districts are joining in organising the GIS. Before the main function on February 10-12, investors’ conferences are being held in districts and investment intents worth thousands of crores of rupees are being received directly by the districts. This is unprecedented for the state of Uttar Pradesh,” Yogi said.
The GIS will start on February 10. All the districts will be connected with this main function. “This time, there will be investment in all the 75 districts of the state simultaneously on one day. This programme is for the youths from local universities and colleges who will also be invited to the districts,” he said.
“Continuous dialogue and interaction between government, industry and academia is vital. For this purpose, the state government is taking the cooperation of all the experienced officers and educationists,” the CM said.
“Before the GIS, communication with all the youths in universities and other educational institutions will be important. While communicating, inform them about the plans for attracting huge capital investment in Uttar Pradesh through various policies of the state government. Introduce them to the schemes run by the Centre and the state government for their welfare. Address their curiosities so that more and more youths can avail the benefits of the schemes. Guide them on how this summit will be useful for their bright future,” the CM said, adding students should be made aware of the ambitious plans of the government by visiting universities.
