Further investigations are on in the case.
As per reports, 11 youths in Army uniform carrying ‘arms’ and ‘ammunition’ were present near a newly-constructed bridge at Faridpur hamlet of Sehramau Dakshin in Shahjahanpur on Saturday. They had painted black stripes on their faces and some of them even carried ‘grenades’ for a documentary film.
Some villagers noticed their presence and suspecting them to be members of some subversive outfit, surrounded them. The villagers later attacked them with sticks and rods. The youths tried to convince the villagers that they were not criminals and were there to shoot a film but to no avail.
Luckily, a police team was passing by and the cops intervened and saved the lives of the youths.
During questioning, the youths said that they were making a documentary on Pakistan and Indian army for the coming Independence Day on behalf of YouTube channel. They also handed over the ‘arms’ and ‘ammunition’ which were found to be artificial during verification.
The youths also revealed their identities and disclosed that they all were theatre artistes.
The cops took the youths to the police station and efforts were on to verify their identities before setting them free.
