Hailing the youth as the carrier of change, state BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the community was the future of the nation and was well versed with the problems faced by Uttar Pradesh.
“Youth can help any government to end corruption, unemployment and inequality in the society. They are the epitome of change in the true sense. Uttar Pradesh needs a change because of the prevailing corruption and lawlessness. The youth will play a pivotal role in bringing about that change,” Maurya said while addressing a Youth Sammelan at lakhimpur Kheri on Thursday.
“BJP got unprecedented success during lok Sabha polls because of the support from the youth. The same success story will be repeated in UP as the state goes o the hustings early next year as they are the bulwark of BJP’s support base,” he said.
In his speech, the BJP leader aimed his barbs at the SP, the BSP and the Congress calling these parties as corrupt and inefficient. “During the two UPA regimes, scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore came to the fore. In UP, you are witnessing a tussle between ‘chacha’ and ‘bhatija’ over distribution of loot during is regime,” Maurya said.
“It is unfortunate that the Central government has given several thousand crore rupees to UP for development. But not a single penny has been used. If the BJP comes to power the Central allocation of fund will reach the beneficiaries. The state will get at least Rs 1 lakh crore annually from the Centre,” said the state BJP chief.
Maurya also highlighted Modi government’s achievements including surgical strike by Indian Army in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the crusade against black money by culling high value notes.
“In 2014 lok Sabha polls, people showered their love on the BJP and we want the same in 2017 elections,” Maurya said and declared that the BJP will form a government on its own.
