In an alleged case of honour killing, the body of a lover was found hanging at his girlfriend’s house in Unnao district.
The incident has created a stir in the area with hundreds of crowds gathered outside the house demanding action against the accused.
Reports said that Deepak, son of Ramprasad, resident of Baksikheda village of Hasanganj Kotwali area, was having an affair with a girl, Pramika, from his neighbourhood. The girl’s family was continuously opposing their relationship and there were disputes between the two families on a regular basis.
On the complaint of Pramika's family, Deepak had also gone to jail on molestation charges. On Friday afternoon, when Deepak’s body was found hanging in a room of the girl’s house, there was a stir and a crowd of hundreds gathered at the spot. On getting the information, the police reached the spot and collected evidence before sending the body for post-mortem.
The father of the deceased has accused the girl’s family for murder, claiming that they killed his son and later hanged the body to make it a case of suicide.
Circle officer, City, Ashutosh Kumar said that the body was sent for post-mortem and they were waiting for the report before heading with the investigation.
Meanwhile, a Dalit youth was stabbed to death in a dispute over allegedly commenting on Facebook at Mudadih Tiraha in Sahatwar police station area of Ballia district. Circle officer, Bansdih, Shiv Narayan Vais said that Dipu Paswan (21), a resident of Adhaila village, was seriously injured in a knife attack at Mudadih intersection of Sahatwar police station area on Saturday.
He said that after the incident, the injured youth was taken to the Community Health Centre in Revati, where, after giving first aid, the doctors referred him to the district hospital, but Deepu succumbed to injuries on the way. The police have sent the body for post-mortem.
According to the police, Deepu was returning home after attending a Tilak programme when he got into an altercation with the attackers at Mudadih intersection.
During this the attackers attacked him with a knife. A case has been registered against unknown persons on the complaint of the deceased’s mother, Shubhawati Devi. He said that during the investigation of the case, the fact came to light that the deceased Deepu had a dispute
