In a shocking incident in Gorakhpur, a youth was thrashed and forced to spit and then lick it in full public view by some miscreants in Barhalganj area on Wednesday.
While the traumatised victim could not muster courage to report the incident to the police, a video of the incident went viral on social media the same evening, forcing police to intervene.
On being contacted by the cops, the victim submitted a complaint against two named and four unidentified miscreants and a case was registered.
As per reports, a group of musclemen stopped the victim, who was riding a motorcycle, at Khutbar village on Wednesday. Soon after the miscreants abused and thrashed him badly. Not satisfied, they asked him to spit and then lick it in public view.
Before leaving the place, the miscreants warned the victim against reporting the matter to the police.
But the same day, the miscreants posted a video of the assault on the social media.
After the case was registered, Narad of Bahsua hamlet and Nagendra of Dadri village were arrested. The police were now trying to extract the names of the other accused from them.
