In a sensational incident, a young girl was found lying nude in critical condition on Gorakhpur-Deoria highway late on Sunday night.
As the police rushed the victim to District Hospital, the opanic stricken victim kept on mumbling that the perpetrators would kill her (wo log mujhe maar dalengey) before becoming unconscious.
The police suspected that criminals had gang raped her before dumping her at a secluded place taking her for dead. The cops were now waiting for the victim to regain composure to detail the horrific sequence of events. Efforts were being made to acertain her identity.
As per reports, Dheeraj Singh of Khorabar area of Deoria, found the 20-year-old lying in a critical condition sans any clothes on the Gorakhpur-Deoria highway late on Sunday night and immediately informed the police.
Station House Officer of Khorabar, Atul Singh rushed with force and after dressing her up rushed the victim to the district hospital. Other than waiting for thevictim to regain consciousness, the police was trying scan CCTV footages installed on highway petrol pumps and Toll Plazas which could help in identifying the girl and the perpetrators.
In a similar attack in Bareilly, an unidentified man threw acid on the face of a 12-year-old girl causing serious injuries. The girl was sleeping in the courtyard of her house in Thiriya Kalyanpur area when the miscreant attacked her with acid and escaped late Sunday night.
As she screamed for help, her family members rushed her to a nearby hospital. They claimed that the victim saw a man running away from the house.
SP (Rural) Khyati Garg said, “The girl was taken to the district hospital. An FIR has been registered against unidentified miscreant but the accused was yet to be identified.”
Police are trying to figure out the motive behind the attack. “Parents of the girl were out of the village, when the incident took place. Once we gather information from them, we will arrest the culprit,” the SP said.
