Yogi to make two-phase Gujarat whirlwind tour

Published on:

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be on a two-phase whirlwind tour of Gujarat for six to eight days to campaign for BJP in the crucial two-phase Assembly polls starting from December 9. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah, Yogi is BJP’s important star campaigner. A spokesman at the CM office said, “Immediately after winding up campaigning for BJP candidates in Urban local Bodies elections in the state on November 27, Yogi will proceed to Gujarat to address rallies in the poll-bound state.” Yogi had already launched the campaigning in Gujarat by joining the Gujarat Gaurav Yatra in mid-October.

“In the first phase, Yogi Adityanath will campaign for three days starting November 28. Next, the CM will visit Gujarat again for three days from December 6. There is also a proposal for his visit to the western statet on December 4 and 5,” said the spokesman. The party brass has commissioned Yogi as it wants to cash in on the firebrand leader’s charisma and fiery oratory that is liked by the electorate, especially the Hindus. During ‘Gaurav Yatra’, Yogi had spent two days in Gujarat and addressed a public meeting in the border district of Bhuj.

Though the poll programme of Yogi is yet to be disclosed by the BJP, it is reported that the Chief Minister, who is pursuing the party’s Hindutva agenda aggressively, will address rallies in pockets where people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, mainly migrant labour, are concentrated. The 182-member Gujarat Assembly will go to polls in two phases on December 9 and 14
