Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,  who is one of the star campaigners of Bharatiya Janata Party, will launch the party’s poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh from Saharanpur after offering pooja at Maa Shakumbhari Devi temple on Sunday.

Saharanpur goes to poll with seven other west UP constituencies in the first phase of polling on April 11. The other constituencies going to polls on April 11 are Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

“Before launching the poll campaign, Yogi Adityanath and some senior leaders of the party will offer prayers at Maa Shakumbhari Devi temple in Saharanpur. Yogiji always goes to the famous temple during his visit to Saharanpur,” said BJP state general secretary and west UP in-charge Vijay Bahadur Pathak in Lucknow on Saturday.

Pathak, who is camping in Saharanpur, said that all preparations for the grand launch of the poll campaigning had been completed.

After ‘darshan’ of Maa Shakumbhari Devi, Yogi will address his first poll meeting at the nearby Naglamafi village in Behat Assembly segment of the constituency.

“The Chief Minister will stay in Saharanpur for 90 minutes after reaching there around 12 noon. Some UP ministers from the western region, along with senior party leaders, will be present in the first election meeting of the Chief Minister.

After Saharanpur, Yogi would leave for Mathura and address an election meeting in Vrindavan, Pathak said.

Yogi will again go to Mathura on Monday where he will join actor-turned-sitting BJP MP Hema Malini who will file her nomination papers from Mathura Lok Sabha seat.
