Yogi reviews preparation for UP Investors Summit

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparation for the proposed two day Investor’s Meet starting from February 21 saying Government is expecting large investment which in turn will open vistas of opportunities for the educated youth of the state.

Yogi went to the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the venue of the investor’s meet, on Sunday and personally took stock of the situation. CM was informed about the locations where inaugural and valedictory functions will be held and was taken to the halls where different technical sessions will be organized.

“This will be the greatest function UP had ever seen. We expect large investment which will throw open employment opportunities to the youth. They will now get jobs at their doorsteps and this will change the face of Uttar Pradesh,” Yogi said in a statement issued here.

With an aim to woo investments to the tune of over Rs 3 lakh crore, including Rs one lakh crore on the Defence Manufacturing corridor to be set up in Bundelkhand region, the Yogi government is set to sign around 600 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the event.

However, the government officials did not elaborate on the investment expected in this meet which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 21 morning and  President Ram Nath Kovind will address the concluding day function on February 22 evening.

“Earlier no one was ready to invest in UP, but now the image has changed and almost all the top industrialists and investors have shown their interest in the state,” he claimed.

He said Uttar Pradesh is the land of vast opportunities and this government is simply trying to make use of all these facilities. This is unfortunate that UP’s potential was harnessed by private players and government did not get anything. Now, we are coming up with such a plan where investors will get all the facilities under one roof.  “This is reason as why UP has emerged as most favoured destination for investors,” he said.

He also gave directives to officials to fine tune the arrangements. CM directed that Union Ministers should be received and should be seen off by the ministers and Principal secretary of the concerned department. The Police should make all arrangement regarding free flow of traffic while the power department should ensure interrupted supply of electricity.

On February 20, the Chief Minister would host a high profile dinner for about 200 dignitaries including top industrialists  including Reliance Industries limited (RIl) chairman Mukesh Ambani, Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Gautam Adani, Subhash Chandra, Sudhir Mehta, Sanjiv Puri, Hemant Kanoria, Kulin lalbhai, G M Rao and Subramanian Sarma. While on February 21, Union Home minister and local MP Rajnath Singh will host dinner for the guests.
