Once again shifting to her Party’s core vote bank `Dalit’, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday termed the Yogi Adityanath’s government as `Anti-Dalit’ and accused the chief minister for patronising the member of his community involved in attack on the dalits. She said that the state in continuing to reel under the `Jungle Raj’ and change in government had further deteriorate the law and order condition in the State. It may be mentioned here that on Tuesday also, just after Mayawati left Shabbirpur area, the violent clash again took between members of the two castes.
BSP president Mayawati made above remarks while addressing journalists in New Delhi while on her way to meet victims of Saharanpur incident on Tuesday morning. She said that her party condemns Shabbirpur incident and alleged that Yogi Government is anti-dalit. Slamming State government, Mayawati said that government is working on discrimination policy and failing to provide what they had promised. She said in riots of May 5 on birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap 55 Dalit house were blazed but the government so far remained mute spectators and had not forwarded any help to the victims.
Former UP CM also claimed that the accused involved in the attack were also roaming free and threatening the Dalits not to pursue the matter or be ready to face the consequences. She further claimed that her Party leaders had sought permission to built a temporary helipad in Shabbirpur area but the local administration refused so she was forced to take road route and if any mishappening occurred on way, then the entire responsibility will be of the government.
later Mayawati reached Shabbirpur and met the family members before leaving the locality after addressing Bhim Sena members and Party workers on Tuesday afternoon. Interestingly, Mayawati, who was visiting any spot after three years, was so excited that she even came out of her car and waived her hand to boost the morale of the Party workers. Earlier she visited Badaun when two dalit sisters were allegedly raped and murdered three years back in 2014. However, later the CBI probe pointed the incident to be that of suicide.
Meanwhile reports from Saharanpur confirmed that just after Mayawati left Shabbirpur area on Tuesday afternoon, tension once again gripped as the members of the Bhim Sena reportedly torched two houses of Thakurs and later in reaction, the other group opened fire and used sharp edged weapons in which three dalits were seriously injured. Senior police officers had rushed to the spot and chased away the trouble makers. However, heavy police deployment has been made and entire area has seen cordoned to avert entry of any anti-social elements. No one was arrested on Tuesday so far. The injured were admitted in hospital.
