Equating Indian army with Lord Hanuman, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the way Lord Hanuman burnt Lanka, the Indian army destroyed terror camps operating in Pakistan.
“Indian army destroyed terror camps operating in Pakistan just as Lord Hanuman had destroyed the goons in Ravan’s Lanka. This act of valour (of Indian army) was possible only because of the strong and decisive government (at the Centre) and the determination and will power of Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi,” Yogi said while addressing an election rally in Siwalkhas in Baghpat Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday.
He said India had made remarkable progress in economic and military field under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Yogi appealed to the people to vote for the BJP and help India become an economic super power.
In his over 40-minute speech, Yogi talked about various issues, including air strike and achievements of the Modi and his own governments. He paid tribute to Kargil martyr Rajendra Singh and remembered Dhyan Singh Gurjar who led the revolution of 1857 from Baghpat.
“This is the land of patriots who have contributed in the freedom struggle of 1857. Defeat forces that are working to weaken India,” he said.
Hitting out at the opposition parties, Yogi said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that the first right over the resources of the country was of Muslims. “If Muslims have the first right over resources, where will Scheduled Castes, Jats, Gurjars and other people go?” he asked.
Yogi also accused the Congress of weakening India by playing into the hands of anti-nationals. He said Congress in its manifesto had promised to revoke the special powers given to Indian Army and this was a clear intent of supporting the people who wanted to break this country.
“If the Congress manifesto is implemented, it will make our jawans helpless against our enemies. It seems that the urban naxals have taken over the Congress and are conspiring to run the country through them,” he said.
Yogi took a jibe at Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Jayant Chaudhary, saying he was supporting someone (Rahul Gandhi) who does not know if the potato grow on trees or under ground.
Yogi said the contribution of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh to the farming community would always be remembered. “He was a true leader of farmers and forced governments to frame policies to protect farmers,” he said.
“People of Baghpat have been demanding expansion of sugarcane mill for the past 30 years but the representative you chose six times (Chaudhary Ajit Singh) did nothing. Dr Satyapal Singh not only ensured expansion of the sugar mill but also farmers’ payment which was due for the last six years,” he said.
Appreciating the works of Satyapal Singh, Yogi said Singh saheb resigned from the post of Police Commissioner and joined the BJP to serve the nation. “Baghpat being his birthplace, it was his first choice and he has changed the picture of this area. Be it the highways connecting Haridwar and Delhi to Baghpat, power supply, safety of citizens, specially females, or the issues of farmers, he has proved himself,” he said.
Yogi appealed to the gathering to vote for BJP in all 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of UP and make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister again.
