later, Samajwadi Party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said that attempts were being made to cancel the recruitment of 35,000 constables, selected on merit, during the previous SP regime. He said that these constables are sitting on a dharna demanding issuance of appointment letters but the state government has so far ignored their demand.
Chaudhary said that SP leaders told the Governor that police officials were harassing SP panchyat members and that BJP leaders were using them to remove Chairpersons of various District Panchyat.
The spokesman also said that since the matter of regularization of ‘Shiksha Mitras’ was not taken up properly by the state government in Supreme Court, lakhs have lost their jobs and were now agitating as they did not have any other choice. He said that the delegation also raised the issue of floods in eastern UP and alleged that the UP government has failed to provide any succor to the affected people.
