Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolence on the martyrdom of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Amethi native ASI Anil Kumar Maurya at Sukma in Chhatisgarh on Friday night. Maurya was felled by Naxa;l bullets during an encounter.
Yogi announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 25 lakh to the martyr’s family. The CM also directed concerned minister in-charge of Amethi, to visit the martyr’s residence, meet his family and express condolence on behalf of the government.
On Friday night, an encounter took place in Kistaram police station area between a team of 212 Battalion of CRPF and armed Naxals in which Maurya lost his life. The CRPF team was out on a search patrol. His mortal remains would be airlifted to Raipur before being sent to Amethi for cremation by late Saturday night
