Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the achievements of his government while launching a sharp attack on the opposition Samajwadi Party.
Labelling the SP as an obstacle to infrastructure development and law and order, he asserted that his government had steered the state towards progress through robust policies and effective governance.
Presenting comprehensive details of the agriculture, investment, electricity, and farmers' welfare initiatives in the UP Legislative Council on Wednesday, he remarked that, due to reforms aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business, UP, once seen as a barrier to the nation’s growth, has now transformed into a key driver of the country’s economy.
The chief minister said that his government has successfully secured investments worth Rs 15 lakh crore out of the Rs 45 lakh crore in MoUs signed.
Citing examples such as the Rs 15,000 crore investment in Gorakhpur and the development of a freight village in Varanasi, he emphasised that robust infrastructure and a secure law and order environment are vital for such progress—areas where, according to him, the SP has been a significant hindrance.
Discussing his government’s 33 sector-specific policies, as well as initiatives like the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, CM Yogi stated that these efforts have given Uttar Pradesh a distinct identity.
He also mentioned projects such as the Mega Integrated Textile Park between Lucknow and Hardoi and the Sant Kabir Textile Park across 10 districts. Additionally, he highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to provide insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh for 96 lakh MSME units.
Criticising the power management during the SP government’s tenure, Yogi remarked that they had left UP in darkness. He pointed out that if a transformer failed, people had to wait for weeks and even collect donations to fix it. In contrast, he highlighted that the state’s power consumption has now reached approximately 33 megawatts, with the government ensuring an uninterrupted electricity supply to all districts, tehsils, cities, and villages without bias.
He also mentioned that Ayodhya is being developed as a solar city, and 17 municipal corporations are being integrated with solar energy.
CM Yogi said that UP is number one in food grain production and the agricultural growth rate has reached 14%. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, 28.58 lakh farmers got insurance, of which 9.33 lakh got compensation of Rs 495.41 crore.
Also, he mentioned the sugarcane price payment of Rs 2.73 lakh crore and the increased capacity of 119 sugar mills. He said that UP ranks first in the country, producing 400 lakh tonnes of vegetables. Food grain productivity has increased from 27.25 quintals per hectare to 30.51 quintals per hectare.
He said, “Oilseed production registered a growth of 128%. Paddy and wheat procurement has also increased three to five times.”
Yogi said that his government will set up canteens and rest houses in the mandis in the name of Mata Shabri for the Annadata farmers. He also talked about setting up a seed park in Lucknow in honour of Chaudhary Charan Singh for 251 crores.
Yogi also took a swipe at the opposition, accusing them of abandoning cattle on roads after milking them and then blaming the government.
He detailed his government’s initiatives and informed that 60,713 cow shelters had been established to accommodate 12.5 lakh cows. Additionally, under the Nirashrit Govansh Sahyog Yojana, 1.63 lakh cows have been entrusted to 1.05 lakh cattle rearers. For this purpose, the government has allocated a budget of Rs 2,000 crore.
