Yogi: People of UP to choose a strong, double engine govt

Exuding confidence in Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the upcoming assembly elections, Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that the electoral battle in Uttar Pradesh polls this year would not even be in 80:20 ratio, rather it would be 90:10 in the favour of the BJP.

"The people of UP are going to choose a stronger government of double engine and not the spineless government of Samajwadi Party that hides behind mafias," Yogi said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on a visit to Shamli, visited the district hospital and reviewed the arrangements made for COVID-19.

Later, addressing a public gathering, the chief minister made a fierce attack on the Samajwadi Party, saying that in today's Uttar Pradesh, "there are no more bomb explosions... rather there are now Kanwar yatras with chants of Bum-Bum Bhole."

Yogi Adityanath listed the achievements of his government. In a scathing attack on the SP, Yogi said that the development of SP was limited to construction of cemetery boundaries, so now, at the time of polls, it should also ask for votes there. He said infrastructural development like airports, expressways, and giving respect to farmers was never on the agenda of SP and whenever it was in power, the SP gave shelter to criminals.

Recalling the Muzaffarnagar riots during the Akhilesh Yadav regime, the chief minister said what was the fault of youngsters like Sachin and Gaurav who were just trying to protect their sisters and in return the SP goons killed both of them. “Now these rioters walk around begging for their lives with placards hanging around their necks,” he said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said today there was no more migration from Kairana and Kandhla and every daughter of western UP was now feeling safe. “This guarantee of security to every woman has been given by the double-engine government of BJP,” he added.

Emphasising on the policy of zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, the chief minister said that the bulldozer and development will go together in the state. “The bulldozer will automatically find the illegal properties and money and run over them,” he said.

While interacting with the public in the Thana Bhawan assembly constituency, the chief minister took a jibe at the Samajwadi Party-Rashtriya Lok Dal alliance. He said that this “do ladkon ki jodi” had nothing new to serve. “These people belong to the dark zone,” he said.

Targeting Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary, he said that when the people of Muzaffarnagar riots were migrating from Kairana, these people were hiding in their dens. He said one of these leaders sparked riots sitting in Lucknow, others like Suresh Rana, Sanjeev Baliyan of the BJP risked their lives for the safety of the public.

Addressing a public meeting in the JJ farms of Shamli, Yogi said that the BJP’s double engine government had done what it had said. He said that the youth did not get jobs during the previous regime as both uncle and nephew used to go out for extortion.

He said in the last five years, the campaign of security, development and respect for all, launched by the BJP's double engine government had changed the picture and fortune of the state. He said this forward march should not be allowed to stop.
