Yogi: India turning into a big power house

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided for every citizen and the most benefited were the poor.

“The country is turning into a big power house and focusing on development.. We have united the country by abrogation of Article 370 providing special status to Jammu and Kashmir and fulfilled the dreams of our leaders,” he said. Addressing a public meeting at Chitrakoot on Friday after laying foundation stones and dedicating to people 54 schemes worth over Rs 1.88 crore, the Chief Minister said that Lord Ram stayed in Chitrakoot for 14 years during his exile and the government had decided to make this place a pilgrim and tourist centre.

“The Prime Minister is also concerned about development of Chitrakoot as Bundelkhand was a centre of freedom fighters during Independence movement,” he said.

Speaking about protection of cows and other animals, Yogi Adityanath said that all stray cows were being sent to cow shelters for which the government had launched several schemes.

“We are giving financial assistance for protection of cows and even schemes are being made for better use of the animals,” he said.

Newly-appointed Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh said that schemes launched in Bundelkhand would end the scarcity of drinking water and the upcoming Bundelkhand Expressway and Defence Industrial Corridor would pave way for speedy development of the region.

The Chief Minister would stay for the night at Chitrakoot and on Saturday morning, he would inaugurate a ropeway near Laxman Hills and later go for Kadamgiri Parikrama before returning to Lucknow.
