Calling Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Mumbai visit to attract investments a damp squib, Samajwadi Party president and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav said the Bharatiya Janata Party government was only making noise in the name of investors' conference whereas everyone knew that its results were zero.
"What happened to the previous investors' conference? Last time also the chief minister had claimed that memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth lakhs of crores of rupees had been signed but no investment was visible on the ground. To fool people, ministers and officials were sent on foreign tours on tax payers’ money and there too the result was a big zero," Yadav said in a statement issued here on Thursday.
Yadav further said: “Chief Minister Yogi had himself gone to Mumbai to persuade industrialists to come to UP. But witnessing the condition of UP, no industrialist and businessman is ready to invest here.”
He further stated that due to the wrong policies of the BJP government, UP was constantly lagging behind in terms of development.
"Recently, Uttar Pradesh reached the lowest among all the states of the country in growth rate in the financial year 2021-22. The BJP government is completely responsible for this," he said.
The SP president said that the chief minister should tell how many of the MoUs they mentioned had been implemented in six years.
