A group of eve teasers made sexually coloured remarks on girls and attacked them with an intent to disrobe them in Kuwan Kheda locality under Tanda police station area of Rampur on Saturday. Not only this, one of the accused lifted one of the girls in his lap and his associates filmed the incident by a mobile and later they uploaded the video clip on the social sites.
As per reports, the girls along with their associates had gone to visit a forest area when the group of the miscreants reached the place. They started thrashing the girls and the boys associating them for visiting to a park in full public view. They also thrashed up a couple who confronted the miscreants. They later allegedly shoved them to move towards a crop field where they assaulted them.
The news flew thick and wide, the police swung into action and arrested one of the identified miscreants. Four teams had been formed to track down the absconding miscreants.
Giving detailed information, the police said a case has been registered in this connection and the prime accused Shehnawz of Kuwankheda locality under Tanda police station area had been arrested. The police registered a case under sections 354 and 354 b against 14 persons and four of them had been identified as Naved, Jahane Alam, Farman and Saddam, all of Tanda police station area.
The SSP Rampur said the video clipped seemed to have been filmed inside fields where the miscreants were seen shoving the victims and then misbehaving and trying to outrage their modesty. He said four teams consisting of sleuths of crime branch and surveillance cell had been pressed into the job to track down the miscreants. He said the police had registered a case on it own as none of the victims turned up at the police station to lodge a complaint.
The SSP said a case for making sexually coloured remarks under section 354 (a) and a case for using criminal force to any woman with the intention of disrobing or compelling her to be naked under section 354(b) was registered against the miscreants. He said the other accused were yet to be identified.
