In a glaring example of deteriorating law and order situation in the state, a woman had to jump from a running truck along with her two children in order to escape a rape attempt at GT Road in Fatehpur on Friday. She and one of her children died in the mishap.
According to reports lodged with the Hathgam police station, one Rakesh was returning home along with his wife Raj Kumari (30), son Deepak (12) and daughter Rajni (3) on Friday morning. Rakesh was deployed at a brick-kiln and had taken a lift on a truck to reach home. The truck driver trickily asked Rakesh to alight down and bring some
food from a hotel. later, the truck driver misbehaved with his wife and tried to rape her. In order to save her modesty, the woman jumped from the speeding vehicle along with her children, but died along with her daughter. The boy was battling for life in a hospital. local police registered a case and claimed to have launched a hunt for the driver and his accomplices.
Meanwhile state was also rocked with series of killings in the last 24-hours. In Jaunpur, body of a lady aged about 35-years and a boy about 3-years suspected to be mother and son, found lying abandoned in canal at Hussainabad area of Shahganj on Friday morning. While the women was hacked to death with some sharp edged weapon, the boy was strangulated to death. A case was registered and efforts were made to maintain his identity. In Aligarh also, body of two unknown youths both around 30-years of age was
found lying near Shasni Gate crossing at Agar Bypass under Madrak police station in the wee hours of Friday. The local cops claimed that they found Vijendra tattoed on the hands of one of them while other on having RA tattoed on his hand. Both the victims were brutally battered to death. A case was registered in this regard and efforts were on to maintain their identity.
In Daurala area of Meerut, 17-year-old Monty, a resident of Rohasa was brutally battered to death by his neighbour Subash, Rabi, Ramphool, Anuj, Cunni and Ajay just over some petty dispute late on Thursday night. In Hathigawa locality of Pratapgarh, 50-year-old Ram Pratap Singh, a native of Balipur hamet was shot dead by some unknown miscreants sometime on Thursday night. Similarly in Eka
area of Ferojabad, 55-year-old Sunheri lal, a native of Kailpur was sprayed with bullets by Sumer Singh, Ram Singh, Soran Singh, all brothers along with Amar Singh and Diwari lal in the wee hours of Friday. A case was registered and efforts were made to nab the accused. In Chandauli district, one constable Hiteshwar Ram, deployed at Vikas Khand in Chandauli was found dead under
mysterious circumstances on Friday morning. A case was registered and his body was sent for post-mortem examination.
In Saharanpur, dispute over sand mining led to murder of one person. According to reports, Wazid, a contactor in Haryana and Pankaj, belonging to Saharanpur had a dispute over mining in river Yamnuna on the UP-Haryana border. The dispute took an ugly turn when Wazid and his cohorts opened fire at Pankaj in which he along with his driver Brjesh were critically injured. While Brijesh died on the
spot, Pankaj is still battling for his life. In Philibhit, two brothers residing in Nad Basiyapur hamlet of Jahanabad, had a dispute over giving water to their fields. The dispute took an ugly turn when on Thursday morning, one of the brother leeladhar and his sons Jagdish, Rakesh and Rajendra attacked 42-year-old Jhamman lal and brutally battered him to death.
In the last incident reported from Unnao, a 42-year-old man was brutally hacked to death by his brother-in-law just as he went for love marriage against wish of her parents.
