After a woman was killed for opposing molestation in Ballia on Tuesday, another young woman was hacked to death while her kin was critically injured for resisting rape attempt by a neighbour in Meerut on Wednesday.
As per reports, Altaf of Khairnagar area of Delhigate was trying to court Razia (25) (name changed) of Tarapur area of lisadigate also in Meerut. On Wednesday morning, while Razia was with her kin Shabnam (name changed) in the house, Altaf barged inside and tried to force himself on her. When she raised alarm, the miscreant attacked her with a pair of scissors. As Shabnam rushed to rescue the marooned Razia, Altaf attacked her too causing serious injuries to both Razia and Shabnam before fleeing the spot.
The critically wounded victims were rushed to the District Hospital by the neighbours where Razia was pronounced dead upon arrival while Shabnam was battling for her life. A case was registered and body of Razia was sent for autopsy. The police hqas launched a massive manhunt to nab the absconding Altaf.
Meanwhile in Ambedkarnagar, a property-dispute triggered a clash between two groups and left one person dead while and half a dozen injured on Wednesday morning.
As per reports, Ram Bachan Tewari of Bohirikpur area of Bhiti in was having an old property dispute with his neighbour Surendra Dubey. On Wednesday morning, Twaeriu and Dubey had a heated argument over the issue which later snowballed and both were joined by their kin and supporters leading to a clash in which iron rods and sticks were freely used.
Meanwhile, Dubey and his son Sanjay took out crude bombs and hurled them on the rivals killing Pravesh Pandey (30) on the spot. Besdies, Tweari, his son Adarsh aka Piyush, Raju Tewari, Prince Tewari, Surendra Dubey, his son Sanjay, Sarvesh aka Angrez and two others were injured. They were shifted to hospital and heavy police force was deployed to avert any recurrence.
