With a promise to manage widow pension, two acquaintances gang-raped a gullible woman in a hotel in Hapur on Wednesday.
The victim somehow managed to escape from their captivity and filed a complaint against the accused at Garh Kotwali police station on Thursday.
The victim, a widow from Garh Mukteshwar, alleged that the two men were acquainted with her and they took her to Hapur on the pretext of filling the form for widow pension. She said on their way back, the accused stopped at a hotel for some water and there she was held hostage in a room and gang-raped by them.
The woman managed to run away from the room in which she was held captive and reached home. The next day, she filed a complaint narrating her ordeal and naming the two miscreants.
Meanwhile, in another incident in Hapur, a 15-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour in Simbhaoli area after which the miscreant administered her some poisonous substance as a result of which she died during treatment in a local hospital on Wednesday.
