In a bizarre incident, a 25-year-old woman’s lover tried to force her to have sex with his friend and when she refused, both injured her critically and dumped her in a well, taking her for dead.
Luckily, the woman was found alive admitted to a hospital.
A case has been registered and all efforts are being made to nab the accused.
Reports said that Sarita (name changed), a native of Banda, was married to a youth of Kalyanpur locality of Fatehpur in 2008. However, due to a dispute with her husband, she left her in-law’s house and went back to her parents in Banda and was living there since then. She also had two children from her husband who were also living with her.
Reports said that during her stay in Fatehpur, Sarita developed illicit relations with a youth, identified as Lavkush, of Jalala hamlet in Fatehpur.
Superintendent of Police in Fatehpur, Ramesh, claimed that on Sunday morning, a local villager in Jalala hamlet found the woman lying injured inside the well and informed the police. The cops, with the help of villagers, brought her out of the well and admitted her to the district hospital.
As the woman’s condition was critical, the doctors referred her to the medical college hospital in Kanpur.
According to Ramesh, the woman managed to give a statement in which she revealed the entire incident. Sarita said that Lavkush called her last Thursday, saying he wanted to see her urgently. She said when she met Lavkush, he took her to the nearby jungle where he was joined by his friend, Chandan.
Sarita alleged that her lover tried to force her to have physical relations with Chandan but when she refused, the two brutally stabbed her and threw her in a well taking her for dead.
In a separate incident in Shahjahanpur, a television journalist was injured after he was shot at by three persons, police said on Tuesday. The reporter, Ankit Sharma, was fired at on Monday and was admitted to a hospital, Superintendent of Police (City) Dinesh Tripathi said.
