Aiming to reap political mileage, Vishwa Hindu Parishad is set to display models of the proposed Ram temple in over four lakh villages across the country and claim of fulfilling the promise of construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. Through the campaign, the outfit is expected to reach out to over 10 crore people.

The VHP blueprint is ready and the outfit will seek donation of Rs 11 from each family to construct the model to be showcased in main areas of villages so that people could have a darshan of Ram temple.

“The VHP would make this campaign official during a meeting to be held in December next,” a source in the VHP said on Saturday.

Besides, the VHP is also planning to hold religious functions in all villages of the state to celebrate the start of construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya .

“At this point of time our focus is on distribution of prasad of bhoomi pujan for the Ram temple held on August 5 among villagers across India,” the source said.

The VHP had used the issue to generate passion. Before bhoomi pujan, it had asked people across the country to decorate their homes, mohallas and temples and watch the live telecast of the event with families and friends while singing bhajans.

VHP secretary general Milind Parande had issued a statement saying that the live telecast should be shown to the community on big screens or in auditoriums.

“People should decorate their houses, neighbourhoods, villages, markets, monasteries, gurdwaras and ashrams, distribute prasad and also light lamps after sunset in the evening. Use means of publicity to make the grand function available to more and more people,” the VHP leader had said.
