Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member and UP in-charge Sanjay Singh said on Wednesday that the people of the state rejected the ruling BJP in the just concluded panchayat elections.
“The public voted in favour of Kejriwal's model of governance in the local bodies election and ensured the victory of AAP candidates as 83 zila panchayat members, 300 gram pradhans and 232 BDC members. We have pipped the Congress and are placed in the fourth place numerically. I thank party workers for their hard work which resulted in a very encouraging result,” he said.
“People of the state have shunned the politics of graveyard dished out by the BJP and want free drinking water, electric supply, hospital and education. In UP, people in crisis have to wait for ambulances for several hours to reach their ailing kin to hospitals,” he said.
Singh announced that AAP will start auto ambulance services in Lucknow and neighbouring districts to help the public. “The UP government is registering cases against people instead of helping them. This is condemnable and smacks of Hitler’s policies,” he said.
The AAP leader further said that the Yogi government was busy in concealing and blacking out heart rending scenes at crematoriums and graveyards instead of arranging beds, oxygen and life saving medicines for patients who were dying due to the lack of these in Covid times.
Singh further alleged, “The CM has been claiming that there was no dearth of bed and oxygen but the situation on the ground was diametrically opposite. Even in Delhi, the BJP government at the Centre has been denying the allotted quota of 976 metric ton of oxygen for hospitals in the national capital.” The AAP leader urged party workers to refrain from celebrations on winning panchayat elections and instead help the needy persons in these trying times.
