Protesting against privatisation of power distribution in four cities, the engineers and power department employees under aegis of vidyut karmchari samyukt sangharsh samiti (VKSSS) held protest meetings across the state including at headquarters of power discoms.
Addressing a public meeting at power corporation headquarters Shakti Bhawan in state capital, the VKSSS leaders on Friday said, the main reason behind piling up losses in power sector was mismanagement and purchase of energy on excessive higher rates. The senior officials in administration, who were favouring the privatisation move in their own interest, were misguiding the chief minister instead presenting true picture of power sector in state before him.
Influenced by bureaucrats the government in fact was going to privatise power distribution in the cities where revenue realisation was better which would lead to serious consequences in future, the office bearers said.
