Amidst possibility of Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) actvisits creating some trouble in the name of successfully concluding their chaurasi-kosi-yatra in Basti on Friday, all the security agencies have been put on high alert. Borders of all six districts were also sealed by the government who have also deployed heavy reinforcement of force to prevent the Rs saffron brigade’ from doing any activity on Friday.

The administration already stopped VHP activists which included Ram Vilas Vedanti, former union minister of state for home, Swami Chinmiyanand, Mahamandleshwar Swami Adbhutanand and others from moving towards Makhaura on the Saryu bridge in Basti district, about 40 km from Faizabad, where the Yatra is to be concluded. The yatra was also scheduled to start from the same place on August 25 but was foiled when the police arrested all the senior leaders of VHP along with chief patron Ashok Singhal.

Chinmiyanand, who was detained with other VHP leaders soon after he landed at Amausi Airport here on Thursday morning was later escorted to his Ashram in Shahjahenpur.Sources said that special alert has been also sounded as the concluding day of chaurasi-kosi-yatra falls on Friday, the day on which the members of minority community also offered special prayers in the afternoon. All the district police chiefs have been directed to take necessary steps so no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere particularly in wake of recent riots in Muzaffarnagar and other adjoining districts.

The borders of six districts- Barabanki, Faizabad, Gonda, Basti, Ambedknagar and Bahraich have been sealed off and barricading have been placed at all the entry points. Checking of vehicles and other preventive measures has been made to prevent the VHP leaders to enter these districts. Sources also confirmed that district magistrates of all the six districts as well as other sensitive cites of the State has been instructed to intercept the VHP activities and detained them till the scheduled time of concluding function will be over on Friday.

The intelligence reports have suggested that the VHP activists along with the sadhus and saints are expected to reach Faizabad and Basti by trains from far flung areas.  "  We are also making arrangements to stop the VHP activists moving towards the above two cities where prohibitory orders under section 144 of Cr PC has been already imposed", disclosed a senior officer.
