Gearing up for crucial assembly elections next month Uttar Pradesh BJP got a shot in its arms when several leaders from other political parties including Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) legislature party leader Dalbeer Singh joined the party here on Sunday.
State BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya was present during the joining of these leaders here at the state party headquarters
Dalbeer Singh, the RlD legislature party leader in UP assembly. Dalbeer represents Barauli seat in Aligarh district. Among others who joined BJP are BSP leader from Allahabad, Anand Kumar Pandey alias Collector Pandey, who lost last 2012 election from Meja seat on BSP ticket.
SP leader Dashrath Sonker, Congress leader Dhirendra Singh, BSP leader from Faizabad Sarwajweet Singh and Independent politician from lucknow Rudra Daman Singh also joined BJP.
Addressing reporters BJP state president Kesahv Prasad Maurya said that many offiocers including the DGP are acting as representatives of Samajwadi Party and should be removed from the post so that assembly elections could be conducted in free and fair manner.
“The onus is now on the Election Commission to ensure these corrupt and partisan officers are removed at the earliest,” he said.
Attacking Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav he said that through well-scripted political drama the Samajwadi Party is trying to cover its failure. But poor law and order and lack of development in the state have affected people. The youth are forced to move out in search of job because this government has failed to open job market. The farmers are facing the crunch because government has failed to address their grievances.
“Parivartan (change) is the need of the hour. People here want a change. They want to live in peace. They want to progress. They have their right to get basic necessities. Instead of extending these the Akhilesh Yadav was busy in getting affidavits from legislators. Has he taken affidavits as how many lands the SP legislators have grabbed in last four and half years,” he said.
Welcoming the new leaders he said that these leaders have their ears to the ground. They can hear the rumbling of change and therefore they want to be part of that change. “BJP will form the next Government in Uttar Pradesh as it is destined to win over 300 seats this time,” he said.
