Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to use social media to popularize the policies of the government in such a way that people could know what exactly the government is doing for their welfare.
“Government’s motto of `Sabka saath, sabka vikas’ should be visible in the campaign of information department. The campaign should be carried out in such a way that all the important information should reach people particularly those living in rural areas. This is the modern time of social media and officials should use Twitter, Facebook and other Apps to spread the message,” Yogi said during the presentation of Information Department here last night.
He said that the information department should also disseminate schemes of central government meant for poor and dalits. “The aim of information department is to inform people about government schemes so that they can avail benefits (of these schemes),” he said.
“The information department should also popularize cleanliness campaign and motivate people to keep their environment clean. Similarly, the department should start a campaign asking people to promote cashless economy,” he said. “The information department should work in tandem with other departments to speed up dissemination of information,” Chief Minister said.
When his attention was drawn towards lack of technical expertise in the department to use social media and other hi tech contraptions CM said a workshop should be held for the employees. “The bottom line of the campaign should be that officers should use modern technology,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister of State for Information Dr Neelkanth Tiwari and other senior officials attended the presentation.
