Use of PM Gati Shakti  portal made mandatory  for UP ministers

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made it mandatory for the ministers to use the ‘PM Gati Shakti’ portal for planning projects as he said it is useful in the series of efforts for ease of doing business and ease of living.

While reviewing the PM Gati Shakti scheme with the members of the Council of Ministers, the CM issued instructions to make available the current and future projects worth above Rs 50 crore on the portal. Information about land records, drainage, power transmission, roads, sewer lines, water supply, electricity poles, traffic light poles, and bus terminals should also be available on Gati Shakti, Yogi said.

“Often the information about the project of one department, its updated status and future plan of action is not with other departments. There is a wide gap between macro planning and micro implementation due to lack of coordination and information sharing. Departments often work in isolation. In such a situation, one plan can also have a wrong effect on the implementation of another. PM Gati Shakti is the permanent solution to this problem. Through the portal, projects of every department will be updated which will help other departments to shape their functions accordingly,” the CM said.

He added that the successful implementation of PM Gati Shakti will help the government speed up the work at the ground level and reduce the cost. It will also ensure integrated planning and implementation of infrastructure projects over the next four years with a focus on generating employment.

“The mapping of the existing and proposed connectivity projects will be helped through PM Gati Shakti,” he said. The Infrastructure and Industrial Development department and Invest UP are the nodal institutions in the state for the implementation of PM Gati Shakti.

An empowered group of secretary-level officers, headed by the chief secretary, will review the implementation of the scheme to check logistics efficiency. Along with this, necessary action will be taken in relation to adopting the prescribed framework and standards to amend the scheme, to achieve the objectives and to issue appropriate guidelines for the guiding principles of PM Gati Shakti NMP.

“All the departments concerned should provide updated information about their projects on the Gati Shakti portal. There should be mutual coordination among departments and the data should be accurate and verified,” the CM said.

PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) was launched on October 13, 2021 for providing multimodal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones.

Under this scheme, a sum of Rs 5,000 crore has been earmarked for the expenditure related to PM Gati Shakti under the Special Assistance Scheme 2022-23 to the states for capital investment by the Central government.

“All the departments should compulsorily use the Gati Shakti portal for planning future projects. Portal-based apps should be developed and adopted in departmental functioning,” the CM said.
