Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) Chandra Bhushan Paliwal resigned from the post citing personal reasons.
The 1981 batch IAS officer was appointed Chairman of UPSSSC for a two-year term by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on January 22 this year.
Sources in the UPSSSC said that Paliwal was not in good terms with the state government and was feeling ignored.
His resignation put a question mark on the competitive examinations to be conducted by the commission in coming days for recruitment on vacant posts in several departments.
The sources also said that various steps initiated by Paliwal for reforms in the recruitment process did not find favours with the state government.
Before tendering his resignation, Paliwal completed the interview process for appointment of assistant accountant and auditor and later sent his resignation to Governor Ram Naik.
The UPSSSC is a government organisation which conducts recruitment to non-gazetted subordinate posts. The commission was constituted under provisions of UP Subordinate Services Commission Act, 2014.
