Though it came as little help to consumers facing prolonged outages this summer but UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam limited (UPRVUNl) created a sort of record by generating total 3450 mega watt energy on Sunday.
It is maximum out put by state owned thermal power houses in last several years as due to staff crunch and lack of maintenance the plant load factor (PlF) have gone quite low. The PlF in UP thermal power houses was below the national average and considered lowest in the country, the sources at UP Power Corporation limited (UPPCl) on Sunday said.
The rise in out put was fall out of efforts launched after directives from chief minister Akhilesh Yadav aimed enhancing PlF at thermal units of UP.
In view of UPRVUNl facing serious crunch of resources and scarcity of staff the achievement was remarkable. Despite six new units being commissioned at Paricha thermal plant in previous years no new post was created which was causing hurdle in running units properly, said, Abhiyanta Sangh leader OP Pandey.
