upcc criticises Union government

The UP Congress Committee (UPCC) criticised the Union government for raising the price of lPG cylinders and charged that the PM was cheating the nation by not scaling down the prices of petroleum and its products despite there being a sharp decline in the international prices.

``During the last year, whenever the prices of liquified petroleum gas dipped following decline in prices in the international market, the PM never forwarded the benefit to consumers and instead the subsidy on lPG cylinder was slashed.

“Now that the prices have been drastically increased by the NDA government. Modi cheated public by transferring the load on to the consumers”, charged UPCC sokesman, Sanjay Bajpai.

``It would be better if Modi adjusted that hike in subsidy which has been reduced in the last one year. It would give relief to consumers who are facing the burnt of rising prices of even essentials like pulses, wheat etc.

Terming Modi a ‘big liar’, Bajpai claimed that he dished out a bundles of lies to reach the PM’s post. “By selling the dream of `Achche Din’ (good days), the PM cheated the poor masses as the truth of his campaign stands exposed,” he said.

“Even when the prices of crude oil declined internationally, Modi transferred it’s benefit to oil companies and not the consumers. But as soon as it showed an upward trend, the PM wasted no time in passing on the burden to the common man,” Bajpai pointed out.

The UPCC spokesman said that soon the Congress would take to the streets against rising prices and make it a big issue during the three-week long `padyatra’ taken out in all important districts to expose both the NDA and the SP governments. The yatra will begin from December 9 and conclude in lucknow on December 31.
