UPA govt creating hurdles in implementation of welfare schemes in UP: SP Govt

Published on:

Ruling Samajwadi Party has charged the Congress-led  UPA II government at the Centre for putting hurdles in the  implementation of developmental and welfare schemes in  the state pushing Uttar Pradesh to more backwardness.

''The Centre has only sanctioned 17 per cent of the total Rs  44,000 crore as financial aid to the state so far in the  current fiscal while the decision on a special package to the  state is yet to be considered,'' said state SP spokesperson  and UP Minister Rajendra Chaudhury here.

Talking to media persons here on Friday Chaudhury said  that the Central government and its ministers were  interested in only putting objections on the developmental work pushing the state towards backwardness.

"It is no longer a secret that Union ministers from UP were  putting all their effort to derail the developmental works in  the state. They are sitting tight on the files of the  development schemes and stalling its implementation," he  said.

Raking up the Centre's move to stop funding  for  ambulance service under the National Rural Health  Mission (NRHM), Chaudhury said that Centre has stopped  all the grants for 109 Ambulance Service just as it was  named as Samajwadi Ambulance service.

''UP CM Akhilesh Yadav himself intervened into the  matter and now the state government is funding the total  amount for the 108 Samajwadi Ambulance Service,'' he  said and added that Chief Minister has made up his mind  not to allow centre to derail development projects in UP. If  need be State Government would finance the projects.

Samajwadi Party has supported the UPA-I and UPA-II  governments on different occasion at the Centre to save the  Manmohan Singh government from collapsing but it is stalling development schemes of the state, he said.
