UPA govt a failure: Maya

Accusing UPA government at the Centre for failing on all fronts, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati asked the party men to remain alert in all the Bharatiya Janta Party ruled states as they were trying to fuel communal hatred in the society.

She asked the Party workers to leave no stone unturned in the States which will go for Assembly elections and directed them to expose the failures of the local governments. ``UPA government was neglecting people's and country's interests on various issues and that all sections of the society were facing immense hardships due to its wrong policies particularly sharp increase of essential commodities", claimed Mayawati while addressing her party workers here on Saturday afternoon.

BSP supreme was reviewing the Party’s preparations for coming Assembly and lok Sabha polls in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattishgarh and Rajasthan here on Saturday. Mayawati said that corruption was rampant in the present UPA regime and the leaders were not even concerned with the problems faced by the poor people. "We have to finalise our strategies and preparations for upcoming polls keeping in mind these factors," she asked the Party leaders representing above four states.  "The government's attitude towards religious minorities, especially Muslims, is passive," she added.

Attacking the BJP, Mayawati alleged in States where the Party was in power, communal forces were seen gaining strength.  ``Strengthening of communal forces is not just bad for the progress and development as well as safety of the people living in BJP ruled states but is also dangerous for the entire nation", she pointed asking the party workers to stop the saffron brigade from fueling communal hatred in the society.

Stressing the BSP was the "Sarv Samaj" party, she said the party favoured establishment of social order based on equality. ``BSP motto is sarvjan hitai sarvjan sukhai and we will stick to it as my concern is each and every member of the society irrespective of caste or religion", she reminded while adding  that her Party will hold rallies to unite all sections of the society. Mayawati said her party's movement was quite strong in the State but hard work was required to strengthen it in MP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra and other States.   Names of some party's candidates for Assembly polls in MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan were also finalized at the meeting, a communiqué released by the Party on Saturday evening stated.
