The state issued directions for the effective implementation of ‘Mygovernment’ platform - a portal under Digital India programme with the objective of developing the state as knowledge-based state. ‘Mygovernment’ is a programme of the Centre for citizen engagement towards good governance and will provide information technology infrastructure for the common man.
Chief Secretary Anoop Chandra Pandey said in lucknow on Tuesday that all services rendered by the government would be linked with information technology for the convenience of masses. The top official presided over a meeting to review the progress of Digital India programme being implemented by IT department in lucknow on Tuesday.
Pandey said for the digital empowerment of common citizens, they needed to be provided with an effective digital platform. “With this, the common man, besides sharing their views on various government policies and programmes, can also communicate with the government. They can also make valuable contribution in qualitative implementation of important projects and schemes implemented by the state government,” he said.
Pandey said that in the era of information technology, use of social media was increasing. For the government to obtain credible feedback from common people, it was essential that an institutional mechanism for the implementation of ‘Mygovernment’ platform was developed effectively so as to ensure the participation of masses in the governance.
